Name: Ven. Vajragupta |
| |
Vajragupta was born as Richard Staunton in London in 1968. He studied social science at university and became a Buddhist in his early 20s. In 1994 he was ordained into the Western Buddhist Order and given the name Vajragupta, which means ‘secret or hidden, diamond-like truth’. From 1997 to 2005 he was Director of the Birmingham Buddhist Centre and, during this time, he became involved in inter-faith activities in Birmingham. He is also the author of ‘Buddhism: Tools for Living your Life’, which was published early in 2007. |

He emigrated to the UK from Kenya. He is a senior member of the Hindu Council in Birmingham. He works for a charity in the Black Country and is a JP. |

Name: Dr Mohammed Naseem |
| |
Dr Naseem was born in 1924 in Amritsar, India and became a Pakistani national after partition. He qualified as a doctor of medicine in 1953, from the King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. In 1959 Dr Naseem came to the UK to work as Senior Health Officer at the Queens Park Hospital in Blackburn. From 1962 he set up practice as a single-handed GP in Birmingham and served as Justice of the Peace from 1973 to 1976. He has been a private medical practitioner since 1994. Dr Naseem has been Chairman of the Birmingham Central Mosque since 1975, a founder member and member of the Governing Council of the Human City Institute, an advisor to Muslim Students at Birmingham University and a key member of Think Tank Islamic party. Dr Naseem is married and has five grown up children. |

Name: Bhai Sahib Mohinder Singh Ahluwalia |

Bhai Sahib Mohinder Singh Ahluwalia is a visionary Sikh faith leader and is the Chairman of the Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha in Birmingham, a religious charitable organisation. He has had extensive experience in the multi-disciplinary fields of housing, town planning, roads, water supply, sanitation and conservation work. He serves on the University of Birmingham Community Advisory Board, he is Patron of the United Religions Initiative, and member of the European Council of Religious Leaders (WCRP). He is also a supporter of Globalisation for the Common Good, and a senior member of the Elijah Interfaith Foundation. He has a PhD Honoris Causia from the University of Central England for service to the community and an honorary doctorate for support of work in education, faith and divinity. He has been a visionary agent in the fields of engineering, faith propagation, charity work, education and research. He worked as a civil engineering professional and Housing Executive for twenty years, providing aid to Zambia under the technical jurisdiction of the UK’s Overseas Development Administration (ODA), now called the Department for International Development (DFID). |
